Introducing Yeka

何が私にインスパイアを与えてくれるか、ですか。そうですね、少し難しい質問です。というのも様々な種類のインスピレーションがありますし、その時々の文脈にも大きく依存するものなので一概には言えません。例えば、僕にとって1日の目覚めを鼓舞するものと、キャラクターへの情熱はまた別物なんです。だから、何か１つの大きなインスピレーションの源泉のようなものがあるわけではないです。時々私は海に浮かぶクラゲのような感覚に陥ることがあります。アートという文脈でいうと、あらゆるものからインスピレーションを受けます。例えば、ある変な食べ物があって、その形だったり色の組み合わせによって何か思いついたりすることがあります。あるいは、何かが目に入った瞬間に、あるキャラクターが思い浮かんだり、プロジェクトのアイデアにまで発展することもあります。そのようなインスピレーションからプロジェクトへと没頭していくのです。目が覚めて、はっとプロジェクトがしたくなるんです。創れば創るほどにより、ひらめきを得ていきます。また、周りの人々からもインスピレーションを受けています。彼らのストレス、情熱、エネルギー、全てが僕の創造へと繋がります。彼らのおかげで、創造的でいつづけることができます。

What inspires me? It’s a very difficult question in a way because there are many different kinds of inspirations–and it depends on what we’re talking about. Something that inspires me to wake up in the morning may not be the same as that which inspires me to create a character. So I don’t have one general source of inspiration . . . sometimes I feel like a Jelly-fish floating in the ocean. Talking about art: I can be inspired by any sort of thing–some strange piece of food, for example, can inspire me by its shape or combination of colors. And as soon as I see it, I may get some sort of character in my mind–or even an idea for a project. And then I’ll get into doing the project. So then, when I wake up, I’ll want to do that project. Creating inspires me to create more. I’m also inspired by people–their stress, their passion, their energy. They inspire me to create and to keep doing things.
