Introducing Tomoka

今住んでいるのは高円寺です。すごく落ち着いていて、なんかヒッピーっぽさのある街です（笑）。自由な人がたくさん住んでいます。老若男女問わず皆、ウィンドーショッピングしたり、ぶらぶら散歩しています。街の雰囲気がすごく好きなんです。外国人の友達が来るときは、いつも東高円寺のGrassrootsっていうナイトクラブを勧めてるんです。中が森みたいになってるんです。ヒップホップ系だけじゃなくて、DJブースもあるし、ジャズやソウルもよく流れてるんです。バー兼クラブみたいな感じです。似たような場所だと神宮前のBonoboがあるけど、Grassrootsの方がもっと自然な感じです。あとは、渋谷のWREPもよく行きます。たぶん、スクランブル交差点近くのBarBridgeと同じ人たちが経営してるんだと思うんですよね。WREPの醍醐味は音楽です。アンダーグラウンドヒップホップとかゲットーっぽい場所が好きなんです。新宿も好きです。よくウィンドーショッピングに行きます。渋谷とか原宿に比べたら新宿の方がもっと安全で、整然とした場所な気がします。
もちろん銀座も大好きです。特に、週末の歩行者天国の時間は最高です。物価が高かったり、優雅な人が多いけど、あの街の雰囲気はとても素敵です。
Where do I live right now? Koenji. It’s so chill and kind of hippie; everybody is free there. Young or old, people there just browse shops or walk around chilling. I like the vibe. If my foreign friends visit, I would recommend a place called Grassroots, in Higashi-Koenji. It looks like they have a forest inside. But it doesn’t just have Hip-Hop music; they also have a DJ booth, so they play jazz, soul and so on. It’s like a bar/club, kind of like Bonobo, in Jingumae, but more natural. Apart from that, I like to hangout at WREP in Shibuya. I think it’s managed by the same people that run Bar Bridge, above Shibuya Crossing. The main thing about WREP is the music: I like underground Hip-Hop, and ghetto-like places. But I also like Shinjuku, for window-shopping; the atmosphere there feels safe, and less chaotic than Shibuya or Harajuku. And, of course, Ginza, especially when they close the roads to traffic at the weekend. Even if everything is expensive and everyone looks elegant, the vibe there is so good.
