Introducing Momo

2016,17年あたりから、いろんな人が仮想通貨について言及し始めました。私はなぜ人々がそんなに仮想通貨に熱狂しているのかということや、日本語では「暗号」通貨であるはずが「仮想」通貨と訳されているにも関わらず多くの人が仮想通貨に投資を行なっているかということに興味がありました。だいたいその時期から、暗号技術およびブロックチェーン関連のイベントに参加し始めたのですが、その中でインパクト投資に暗号技術およびブロックチェーン技術を利用する可能性について初めて耳にしました。暗号技術やブロックチェーンは、まだ使いやすさに欠けている部分はありますし、インパクト投資には、経済的および社会的リターンを効率的に生み出すために、より多くの投資家を集める構造が必要ではありますが、ブロックチェーン技術は多くの投資家にとって革新的なアイデアであると私は思いました。暗号技術はインパクト投資の問題を解決するソリューションとなりうると思います。私の最終的な目標は、暗号技術とインパクト投資を結び付けて、私が一番重要視する問題である、女性のエンパワーメントと仮想通貨にもっとお金が流れるような最良の方法を見つけることです。
Around 2016/17, many people started talking about cryptocurrency. I was curious why it was so popular and why some people were heavily investing in crypto even though it translates to kasoutsuuka (“fake currency”) in Japanese. That’s when I started attending all these crypto- and blockchain-related events, where I heard about the possibilities of utilizing crypto and blockchain technology in impact investing for the first time. I thought crypto and blockchain were innovative ideas—with a lot of investors—even if it still lacks usability, and impact investing needs a structure that will gather more investors to efficiently generate financial and social return. Using crypto could be a possible solution to impact investing problems. My ultimate goal is to find the best way to connect these two so that the money will go towards issues that I really care about, which is women’s empowerment and cryptocurrency.
