Introducing Ariel

私は東京生まれです。東京の一番好きなところは、便利なところです。車を持ってなくても、電車に乗ればでどこへだって行きたいところに行けます。それにいたるところにコンビニがあるから、とても住みやすいです。東京は、ニューヨークみたいにみんなが憧れるホットスポットです。一口に「東京」と言っても、その中でもいろんな場所でそれぞの歴史的な特徴があります。西の方だと、恵比寿、渋谷、原宿、新宿などがあり、東の方には、銀座、築地、浅草、上野があります。それぞれの場所は、１つとして同じではなく、これこそが東京の一番の魅力だと思います。東京という大都市圏の中にあるそれぞれの場所は、独自の雰囲気を醸し出しています。東京は現在進行形で多様化しています。観光客に溢れ、街は多文化になっています。こういった変化によって、より広い視点を持ち合わせるようになり、東京がより良い場所、特別な場所になっていくのです。

I was born in Tokyo. What I love about it is that it’s convenient. Even if you don’t have a car, you can just walk to the train station and go anywhere you want. There are convenience stores everywhere, so it’s an easy place to live. Also, Tokyo, like New York City, is a hot-spot: everyone wants to be here. You can find different historical features in each part of the city. In West Tokyo, you have Ebisu, Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku. In the East, you have Ginza, Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Ueno. But each location is totally different from the other. That’s what I find most interesting. Each location within the greater metropolitan area of Tokyo has its own atmosphere. What’s special now is Tokyo’s becoming diverse: there are lots of tourists, and the city is becoming multicultural. That change makes it better and adds a wider range of perspectives.
